While You Fast (issue 4)

While You Fast (issue 4)

His Word; your only Hope

In the last issue, a lot of attention was given to prayer that prevails; travailing prayer. At this point in your journey of prayer and fasting, I am almost sure that you are experiencing a mixed bag of spiritual awakening and satanic arrows in your mind, that try to convince you that what you are praying for is impossible.  I feel it is important to remind you the words of Jesus in

 Matthew 17:20; “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.   These darts are the reason that you are in this fast; to eliminate the possibility of defeat in your mind. In this issue, by the Holy Spirit, we are going to feed your faith the possibilities of grace so that any trace of doubt in your mind may be overcome by the Word. We know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17), so in addition to what you are already doing, I implore you to meditate on the Word of God day and night (at least during the fast). This will unclog the rivers of living water that the Lord has ordained as a source of nourishment for all who are filled of the Spirit.

It; the Word is a supernatural key that was given to Joshua in Joshua 1:8, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

The enemy at this point will try keep your eyes on the difficulty of fasting or on the size of the giants that you are fighting, mostly presenting you with different scenarios on why victory will not be you portion. To overcome him, you must follow the example of Jesus, in Matthew 4; He always responded using the Word. Because in the Word, Satan does not have any authority. The Word is Satan’s ultimate remedy in spiritual warfare.

Recall the words of John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

Underscore, the Phrase “the light shines”, it is present continuous, meaning that the light of the Word never stopped shinning and will not stop shinning. Satan wants you to think that God’s light stopped shinning in your life just because you are going through something, but Jesus has promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Remember the ever-present light in your life, speak life by faith and victory will be yours.  This here is the secret of your prayer success; taking the devil to a territory where he has no capability to understand. Halleluiah, I already see victory in your life as I type these revelations to you! Where in your life you have been fighting in the thought realm As you transition to meditating on the Word only in your mind, Satan has no play.

The Word is referred to in Hebrews as quick, alive, and sharper than a double-edged sword. It is also the only offensive weapon that the Bible has listed in Ephesians 6:10-18. As you maneuver whatever spiritual waters you may find yourself in, engrave this in the tablet of your heart, that “The Word is my only hope, it is the only truth and in it is my reality.”  All other voices, be it a doctor’s report, a work situation, financial situation, or even a family issue, if it does not align with what the Word speaks concerning you, then it is a lie and it must be overcome in the name of Jesus.

In the Word, the laws of nature do not apply.

A story is told in 2 Samuel 6. Israel had sinned before the Lord and as a result , the Word of God (the ark of the covenant) was besieged by the Philistines.. After 7 months, it was returned to Israel, David the king had it go to the House of Obed-edum, a Levite of the Korhites for He was afraid of the Lord. In the course of three months while the ark was in the house of Obed Edom, God blessed him so much that everything in his life prospered. Rabbinical literature writes that “the blessing with which God blessed Obed-Edom consisted of children.

His wife and eight daughters-in-law bore children twice every month during the three months that the Ark remained with him (ib.). According to another version, each of them bore six children at once. In the New testament, Jesus promises that He would confirm His word with signs, wonders and miracles. If he can do it for Obed-edum, He can also do it for you. Do not be shy of believing Him for great miracles; for this reason that He came, that you may have life and life more abundant.

 Possibilities of Grace

          The Bible is God’s resource for all humanity. However, the resources that are contained in there are available only for those who believe, hence the term possibilities of grace. The grace that Christ made available on the cross can be summarized by Psalms 103:1-5:

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:

  1. Who forgives all your iniquities
  2. Who heals all your diseases
  3. Who redeems your life from destruction
  4. Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies
  5. Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

His grace has made available a life that is free of condemnation, sickness, calamity or distress, and one that is crowned with favor that even covers your aging, so that you can have strength to serve the Lord all the days of your life. Therefore, stand your ground and decree these graces over yourself, your family, work, and property.

In Deuteronomy 8:3, the Lord says to His people, “So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” They were used to eating from the fruit of their labor in Egypt, so He withdrew their ability to draw from their labor in the wilderness, to reveal to them another source; living by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

It’s time to feed on God’s faithfulness in your journey of faith. Solomon refers to labor and toil is as vanity of vanities. In the Word’s realm, whatever you lay hand on prospers (Psalms 1, Joshua 1:8). I pray that the Holy Spirit will charge you with His vitality to believe His Word over your life in this part of your prayer and fasting journey, and to stand firm and tell Satan what the Bible says about you. Remember, you have been given the power to tread on snakes, scorpions and over all the power of the enemy so HE HAS TO LISTEN.

 Meditative Psalms 91.

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.

Surely, He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, Who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.
