“It’s time to dig again” were the words that the Holy Spirit spoke over you this afternoon while we were in prayer for you. As it has been illustrated in (Genesis26:18 and Luke 5:4-5), sometimes as we pursue the promise of God in our lives, our efforts of obedience turn to naught. In pursuit of the promises of God over his life, Isaac dwelt in the land of Gerar. Every time he dug the wells, which were promises made to Abraham his father (Genesis 12:3; 22:18), the Philistines would come and fill them with earth. Several times the enemy stopped the wells from nourishing Isaac and his flocks, but he kept on digging until he came to Rehoboth; the place that the Lord made room for them and they were fruitful in the Land.
I know that there are issues that we have placed before the Lord and He has spoken to us about them, but it seems like there is a blockage that comes to hinder the full manifestation of the promise. For some, healing happens but it’s just a momentary relief but the symptoms come right back. For others, it a “patch it up” miracle that only provides for a short time, only to be overwhelmed the next month with other bills, financial obligations etc. Others have poured out their hearts to God to change their loved ones, something happens in the moment only to have the situation get worst. We feel that it is a Kairos moment for us to “dig” again and as it was with Isaac the Lord will create room for you and you will be prosperous in the Land as every promise will be fulfilled.
In the New testament, the same principle is displayed as we see Peter toil and struggle to catch fish all night. He received a breakthrough after the Lord spoke to him. There are times when we reap the fruit of our faith but there are other times where God in His sovereign nature, overrides the limitation of the earth and breakthrough happens instantly. In the natural, there was no fish around Peter’s boat but as the word of the Lord came to Peter, His obedience caused fish to flock into his net. Notice he said …. “nevertheless, at your word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:4). It may feel redundant to try and believe the Lord again for the same thing but as we take the Lord by His word, He says in Luke 1:45 “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord”
