Where there is no vision, people perish… (Proverbs 29:18)
A lot has been written and said about the Scripture mentioned above. Some have settled for the “vision” to be an outline of a prospective order of future events and the accompanying mental determination to fullfil them. However, if you look closely at the intended meaning based on the original Scripture, the word is derived from the word Chazown. It’s primary essence is not the vision itself nor the dream as it is the message conveyed. In the concordance, it is defined as the direct and specific communication between God and His people, through the prophetic office.
Many of us Christians are living our lives blindly, waiting for chance to determine the outcomes of our lives; forgetting that Joel 2:28 says that after the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will prophesy, you will dream dreams, speak in other tongues and see visions.
We have seen the tongues, we have had dreams, we can prophesy, but the realm of the visions (Chazown) is still in its infancy. God wants to show you visions of glory, to give you divine revelation concerning your future, to restore what was lost during the fall of man; fellowshipping with Him in the cool of day and reveal to you the reason for your existence. It is your birthright to encounter your Father in this way.
He revealed His plan concerning the nation of Israel to the patriarch Abraham, 500 years before they were a nation (Genesis 15). He says that He doesn’t do anything before He reveals it to His servants; the prophets (Amos 3:7). You may not be in the prophetic office per say, but you are born of water and of the spirit. You are a new creation, a child of the most high God and as such, He wants to activate your spiritual eyes so that you can add divine purpose to your life.
Simply coasting through life and career without divine influence is what causes many to perish as described in Proverbs 29:18. We see many people in the Old Testament including Hanna in 1 Samuel, Manoah in Judges 13, and others seek for divine inspiration on how to bring up their children. If only the fathers and mothers of today would have a chowzon (vision) concerning their children’s future; the moral degradation of the fabric of society would not influence their future. In the place of fulfilling a purpose and a destiny in life, many are now driven by how lucrative a career is, how beautiful or handsome the spouse is and sometimes, we settle for whatever occupies our time.
You are an ambassador of the kingdom of God (2 Corinthians 5:20). He has ordained for you to have inside information concerning the affairs of this world.
Christ being the first born from the dead and the head of the church, only did what He saw the Father do. For you to replicate the will of God in your life as it is in Heaven, you have to do the same; see what the Father is doing.
Isaiah the prophet points out that Jesus came so that the blind may see, the deaf may hear and that the crippled may walk (Isaiah 35:5). He demonstrated the natural, and now the spiritual comes; sons and daughters who have their senses exercised to discern good and evil (Hebrews 5:14).
What began in Maria Woodworth Etter’s ministry; trances and visons, is going to multiply exponentially in the lives of those who will surrender themselves totally to the will of God, in intimacy and continual communion with the Holy Spirit.
I pray in Jesus Name, that you will be filled with light by the opening of your spiritual eyes, to see Jesus high and lifted up. I pray that you receive insight and revelation concerning your past, present and future, to identify the activity of the enemy in your life and to exercise your authority without fighting shadows. Most importantly, I pray that you will be filled with wisdom and revelation in the mysteries of the kingdom. I ask the Father to open your eyes now, in Jesus name.
