Sin, an incurable infection in the soul
In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, you can have peace here on earth and assurance of eternity in the world to come. You were not created to struggle through life by your own power and strength. God created you in His own image and likeness and laid out a plan for you to be victorious in this world and to spend eternity with Him. His intent for a victorious human race was interrupted when by free will, Adam rebelled against Him and listened to Satan’s lies. Consequently, you and I were born in this sin nature; liable to sickness, disease, and life’s struggle in general (Genesis 3:8-19).
This inherited sin nature is like an infection in our being (spirit, soul, and body) and cannot be cured by good works or any medication. By nature, the consequence of this infection is death, both physical and spiritual. God in His infinite wisdom, made a way in Himself, born of a virgin Mary; without sin or blemish, bore on Himself the penalty of sin’s infection, died our death, and resurrected on the third day so that those who choose to believe in Him will not perish but be restored to Him and His original plan (John 3:16, Isaiah 53)
Our Choice
It was free will that led Adam and Eve to listen the lies of the enemy and sin against God. In response, God made an atonement for the sin nature we inherited and is extending an invitation for us to acknowledge our sin and accept freely this sacrifice, so that we can be born again. God is Love (1 John 4:8) and for love to function, there must be a choice and freedom. Therefore, the Lord doesn’t command you to be born again but rather extends this cure to you so that with the drawing of His love through the Holy Spirit, you may surrender your will for His. He has given us the freedom to choose; choose Him and have everlasting life (John 3:16) or stay in sin and suffer the consequence of it, which is death (Romans 6:23).
The fact that you are reading this tells me that the Holy Spirit is already at work within you to reveal Jesus, His death, burial, and resurrection. As you believe it; your substitutional sacrifice, He will give you a new life.
This is what He says to you today,
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Mathew 11:29
Consider the following Scriptures:
Romans 10:8 But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.
Acts 16:31 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? “So, they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household. Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. He took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and immediately he and all his family were baptized. Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.
In in response to the drawing of the holy spirit in your heart, would you pray this short prayer and confess your faith in Him, accept his forgiveness of sin? He is near to all those who call on His name, and right now, He is near you, extending His arms in acceptance as you call on His name.
“Lord Jesus, I believe you came, born of a virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, was crucified for my sin, buried and on the third day you resurrected. You ascended to the heavens and are coming back for your church. Thank you for the forgiveness of sin and for giving me a new life in you.
Outcome Of our Confession of faith in Him
Romans 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
You are now a child of God; your standard now is the word of God. The things that you used to do before you can do them no longer. You are to seek to offer your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable before Him. (See Galatians 5:19-23 and Romans 12 1-3).
Satan will try to convince you that nothing happened since everything remains the same in the physical. however, God is a Spirit, salvation is of the Spirit and the new birth that has taken place in your spirit and the fruit of it will be apparent if you keep on following His word by faith.
Next steps
Corresponding to that rescue through the flood, baptism which is an expression of a believer’s new life in Christ now saves you, not by removing dirt from the body, but by an appeal to God for a good (clear) conscience, demonstrating what you believe to be yours through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1Peter 3:21Amplified)
He who has believed in Me and has been baptized will be saved [from the penalty of God’s wrath and judgment]; but he who has not believed will be condemned. (Mark 16:16 Amplified)
To fulfill all righteousness, you must be baptized by water, by immersion as a symbol of your death with Christ, burial with Christ and resurrection unto new life. If you are near our home church, send a message through the website and we will make arrangement for your baptism. If you do not have a Bible or access to one, write to us at info@divineissioninistries.org and we will mail you a NKJV for free. Welcome to the family.
