Man’s default setting
The default settings of all of us human beings is found in Genesis 3:17 -17. Here we see man sentenced to survive from the sweat of his brow and the woman is to be subjective to the man. Under this sentence, any progress or victory in anything that man endeavors to do is limited to his ability to make it happen. In this default setting, there are diseases that man cannot figure out, poverty is rampant, injustice and corruption runs wild and all the thorns and thistles that came with the fallen nature are in full force (Genesis 3:18).
God in His mercy and wisdom has provided a way of escape by giving His own Son, so that whomsoever believes in Him may be saved from atrocities in the man driven world (John 3:16, 1 John 3:8). There is a way where thorns and thistles have no dominion over whomsoever chooses Gods amnesty through Jesus Christ; this is the good news!
He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6); He is the light of the world, bringing illumination to the limited nature of our abilities and He is the solution to the consequence of thorns and thistles. However, the battle remains; after we are born again, we are to fight to keep our focus on Him and not revert to our default setting of works.
The flesh will always be at war with the spirit and vice versa (Galatians 5:17). The enemy knows that we are weak when our perception of salvation is hinged on our abilities; for by strength shall no man be saved (1 Samuel 2:9, Psalms 20:7). As such, in the current proliferation of the gospel message, many of those that have been anointed to preach this gospel have unawares, bound us to the limitation of works in the flesh. The blessings of God have been reduced to something we work towards and are not a by product of the Grace of God. Many have prayed without avail and they almost believe that God doesn’t heal all, bless all or deliver all as promised. All promises in Him are yea and amen and by faith in His Name we receive, for it is His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom (Luke 12:32).
The Lord wants you to know that grace that is based on your works is not grace at all. His grace that heals, sets free and delivers is unmerited and is extended to you freely.
If you will just believe, He will lift you up from the confinement of struggle and strife into His abundant life. Haven’t you read in the Gospel of John 6:29, that the work of God is to believe in Him Who He Has sent? All other ways are tales that provide an excuse as to why things don’t happen. Whatever thorns and thistles that are present in your life now, just believe in His ability to restore you, and you will have evidence of His abundant life.
He himself preached the gospel first to Abraham in Genesis 22:18,Galatians 3:8, saying “All nations will be blessed through you” and it is again said that it is not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord, ( Zachariah 4:6) surrender your desire to figure it out, your right to understand how and receive freely his gift today and will revolutionize your life.
In Isaiah 61, He said that when the anointing comes over a sent one, there is liberty for the captives, recovery of sight for blind, good news for the poor and a proclamation of the acceptable year of the Lord. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I bring the good news of the gospel to your life right now. Where there is decay, I prophesy life, where there are thorns and thistles, I speak the abundant life in Jesus Christ and I decree a turnaround in your life as you surrender fully to His tutelage.
