Change brings Change

Change brings Change

I feel in my heart that I should remind you that this year is a foundation laying year that will determine how events in your life turn out for the next few years. So much has been spoken, preached and prophesied about what the Lord has in store for His people year in and year out.

There has been proclamation of years of the breakthrough, declarations of shifts, promises of blessings and deliverance and yet very little has changed. Many are daily confessing the Scriptures about prosperity, healing etc., and yet they still are in the same place; of lack and depravity. As I was talking to the Lord about this, the Holy Spirit dropped these words in my heart, “A mindset or a thinking pattern of yesterday cannot inherit the blessing that He has provided for today.” To receive what Heaven has to offer, we must be saturated with the thoughts of heaven (Colossians 3:2).
John the Baptist came preaching about repentance (changing the way you think), for the Kingdom of God is at hand. Jesus sent the disciples to preach the same message; that kingdom of God was at hand, to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers and raise the dead. In Acts 2:39 after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Peter spoke and said “All of you must turn to God and change the way you think and act, each of you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven and then you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift.”

Whether it is the promise of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, walking  in divine health or the blessings that are for you in Christ Jesus, a change of thinking is required. Based on Romans 12:2, I ask you, “What do you think will transform your life? Is it more prayer? Fasting? Crying out to God?” Not at all! We are transformed by the renewal of our minds to what Christ has already done on the cross.
For most of us, our thinking is either fashioned by our experiences, opinions we have of ourselves or by the facts about our circumstances. The Holy Spirit is not interested in what you think or what history says about you. He is here to help you conform to the image of our Lord Jesus (Romans 8:29). He takes of what belongs to Jesus and reveals it to you. It makes sense that like a caterpillar, we have to move from one level of misery to another before the beauty is revealed. Today, I submit to you that you do not have to go through stages of development like a caterpillar for you to live your life to the fullest. When you gave your life to Jesus, old things passed away and all things became new. You became a butterfly the day you died with Christ; you were buried and resurrected with Him and now you move from one level of glory to another.

You are the righteousness God in Christ Jesus (2Cor 5:21). Sin and death have no power over you. The power of the curse upon mankind was nailed on the cross and now God has given you the right to become His child. You change what is inside and the outside shall follow suit.
How do we change the way we think?
In 2 Corinthians 10:4,Paul reveals that we have weapons that are not carnal but are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, castings down thoughts and imaginations that are contrary to the finished work of the cross. This is the fight of your life in this season. Despite the external circumstances, do not harbor thoughts in your mind that God doesn’t think about you. Align your words with who God says you are, and you will see the manifestation of whatever He has promised you. Your life will go in the direction of your dominant thoughts, so saturate your thoughts with the Word of God; think of His love for you and you will alienate the voice of defeat in your life.
God is raising a new generation of people at Divine Mission Ministries. A people who know their God and are confident of their place in Jesus Christ.
